Kamal's Marmayogi dropped?


special investigation in Kollywood founds that the shooting for actor Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Marmayogi has been temporarily shelved.


Sources close to the actor say he is planning to work on a movie titled Thalaivan Irukkiran. They however denied reports appeared in a section of media that Marmayogi has been dropped. . Marmayogi to be directed by Kamal Haasan was supposed to hit the floors on the first week of November. Prominent actresses including Shriya and Trisha were reportedly roped in to be part of the project.
Without disclosing any reasons for the postponement of the project, the sources said the actor’s production house Raj Kamal Films International has registered a title Thalaivan Irukkiran.
To be directed and enacted by Kamal Haasan himself, the new film is expected to go on floors from January, 2009. Neither the production house nor the star cast have been finalised. Kamal Haasan has completed penning the story and script, they said.
It’s indeed a big disappointment for Kamal Haasan’s fans, who expected their ‘hero’ to go ahead with Marmayogi. But they need not lose heart for their matinee idol has reportedly assured that Marma Yogi is only postponed and not shelved.
Marma Yogi a joint venture between Pyramid Saimira and Raj Kamal Films Inter-nationals, was set in sixth century AD and musical score was by A R Rahman.
Throwing light on Marmayogi in a recent interview, Kamal reportedly said, ‘There is no history science mixture in Marmayogi. It is totally a different attempt and it has lot of scope for music.’
He added: ‘I hope it would touch a new high in the history of Indian Cinema.
